Fully Fund DC's Zero Waste Bill!

Calling all Waste Diversion Warriors,

As you are probably already aware, the DC's "Zero Waste Omnibus Amendment Act of 2020" was signed into law last fall. It is a template for action that can transform DPW and change how we value effective waste management strategies. But it was not fully funded, and we need your advocacy help to make it so!

Meanwhile, DC's Department of Public Works (DPW) Director stepped down. Mayor Bowser is pursuing a nation-wide search to find his replacement. The District needs someone who has demonstrated a core understanding of zero-waste principles, appreciates the Zero Waste Bill and desires to implement it. Let's remind her what that means to those of us on the front lines of the food resource circular economy.

Please join us by signing DC's Environmental Network's petition to Mayor Bowser to fully fund the "Zero Waste Omnibus Amendment Act of 2020" and find a qualified and inspired professional to lead the DC Department of Public Works (DPW).

Again, sign here!

Thank you – your voice makes a difference!

With gratitude,

The Loop Closing Team
